Most of us who dream big have a list of things to do before we bid adieu to the world and our Bollywood divas are no different. Actor Katrina Kaif who has everything that a girl could ask for — a dream job, fame, money and good looks — is not really satisfied with her current state of affairs as her heart hankers for more.
When quizzed about her wish list, the leggy lass shares the three things she wants to achieve before her time is up. “I want to be a part of a cult movie that will be remembered down the ages, I want to go to Mexico and finally I want to conquer the world,” she says and adds with a mischievous grin, “A girl can always dream and nothing is impossible when you set your heart on it.” She was fortunate to cross out the one wish that topped her bucket list — to work in a Yash Chopra film. This was accomplished by having faith and praying at the Mount Mary church religiously, she reveals.
The only regret Kat has is that the late filmmaker will not be able to witness the final trials of the movie when it releases on Diwali.“I remember Yashji walking up to me and saying that the last schedule in Switzerland for one of the songs would be more like a party. The costume fitting had already been done and 12 chiffon saris by Manish Malhotra were finalised,” she says and adds, “One sequence was supposed to be shot in the water in the freezing cold!”
Speaking about her off-screen camaraderie with Shah Rukh Khan that translated into on-screen chemistry, she says, “SRK is still a gentleman at a time when gentlemanly behaviour has gone out of fashion. Right from standing up when you walk in, to opening the door for you, to wrapping a shawl around you in the freezing cold, these are the small things that can make any woman feel special.” Recalling the first SRK film she watched back home in London, she adds, “Asoka was the first Shah Rukh Khan film that I watched on TV. Even in my dreams I had not imagined that one day I would work with him in a movie.”
